Hi,
I’m an american. My partner is indian-american. She is considering returning to india for a few years to work for an ngo. I am a plant biologist with a bachelors degree. I was wondering if it would be possible for me to do a master’s program in india while she is working.
What is the process for admission and financing a degree program in science in india? This is very preliminary. I’m just curious. Thank you so much!

1You are welcome to India and have your education. To get admission in an Indian University may not be a big problem. Things you have to keep in mind are in which city you are staying, your graduate degree is from recognized university or not. You may have to take an entrance test. The best way I shall like to suggest is that you find out in which city you are staying, which university is there, what courses they offer and then mail them to know their criteria of admission.

2check out the link “http://www.educationindia4u.nic.in/admiā¦
you can look for the colleges and universities in the city where you intend to do your masters.
as for finances, loan is available for indian citizens.
for foreign students the best chance is scholarship – which is not enough to meet even pocket expense and disbursal is a tedious process, since the funds will be made available at the end.
you may have better chances of FINDING financing in the US.
good luck.
